The Europeans took three of four morning foursomes matches, anchored by strong performances from both seasoned veterans and energetic rookies. Swedish duo Maja Stark and Linn Grant set the early tone, capitalizing on American errors to defeat Allisen Corpuz and World No. 1 Nelly Korda 3 and 2.
European rookies Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud delivered the most decisive result of the morning, leading wire-to-wire in a dominant 4-and-3 victory over American pairing Andrea Lee and Auston Kim.
The morning's most thrilling drama unfolded on the 18th hole. After Jennifer Kupcho and Rose Zhang held the upper hand through much of the front nine, Leona Maguire and Esther Henseleit clawed back to level the match late.
