The United States and Europe split four points in Friday afternoon’s four-ball session, leaving the Solheim Cup locked at 4-4 heading into Day 2. It marks the first time since 2002 in Minnesota that the event has been tied after the opening two sessions.
The Americans generated early momentum through Megan Khang and Alison Lee, who made the turn tied with Celine Boutier and Nanna Koerstz Madsen before taking control. Khang and Lee won five of the next six holes to roll to a 5-and-3 victory. The U.S. Team added another half-point when Yealimi Noh and Angel Yin erased a 3-down deficit against Charley Hull and Lottie Woad, leveling their match on the 17th hole to secure a tie.
Europe countered with a strong performance from its newcomers, as rookies Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud pulled away to defeat Allisen Corpuz and Auston Kim. The final match of the session went down to the wire between Nelly Korda and Lauren Coughlin of the U.S. and Carlota Ciganda and Julia Lopez Ramirez of Europe. Ciganda sank a clutch putt on the 18th hole to claim a half-point and preserve the overall tie entering Saturday.

European Captain Anna Nordqvist sent out Hull and Woad despite both losing their morning foursomes matches, marking the 10th time a Solheim Cup captain has fielded an afternoon pair following a morning loss.
Match 6: Megan Khang/Alison Lee def. Celine Boutier/Nanna Koerstz Madsen, 5&3
After sitting out the morning session, Megan Khang joined Alison Lee to deliver a commanding 5-and-3 victory over Celine Boutier and Nanna Koerstz Madsen. The European pairing took an early lead on the front nine before the Americans squared the match on the seventh hole and took control for good on the 10th. With the win, Khang extended her unbeaten streak to nine matches, placing her second in Solheim Cup history behind Paula Creamer's 10-match unbeaten run from 2005 to 2009. Lee capped a perfect day as the only player on either team to win both of her Friday matches, improving her career record to 4-5-1.
Match 7: Mimi Rhodes/Nastasia Nadaud def. Allisen Corpuz/Auston Kim, 2&1
Allisen Corpuz and Auston Kim struck early with a 1-up lead on the first hole, but European rookies Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud battled back to keep the match competitive. The Americans reclaimed a brief lead on the sixth hole, but Europe immediately answered on the seventh before taking control on the 10th hole to seal a 2-and-1 victory. The win by Rhodes and Nadaud continued a strong trend for first-time pairings, bringing the combined record of all-rookie Solheim Cup duos to 5-3-1 since 2019.
Match 8 – Nelly Korda/Lauren Coughlin tied Carlota Ciganda/Julia Lopez Ramirez
Americans Nelly Korda and Lauren Coughlin fought to a tie against Europe's Carlota Ciganda and rookie Julia Lopez Ramirez in a tightly contested match that came down to the final hole. Ciganda saved an unlikely par on No. 18 after Korda and Coughlin both left birdie putts short, securing a half-point for the European duo.
Both Coughlin and Korda earned 1 1/2 points on Friday to boost their career Solheim Cup records. Coughlin moved to 4-0-2 (.833), giving her the highest winning percentage in event history among players with at least five matches played. Korda improved to 11-5-2 (.667) overall, having overcome deficits in six of her 11 career victories, including Friday morning's foursomes win.
